Following a strong season for several area baseball teams, the time has come to announce the members of the 2019 All-Ardmoreite baseball team.

Following a strong season for several area baseball teams, the time has come to announce the members of the 2019 All-Ardmoreite baseball team. 

The Most Valuable Player of the year honors went to Plainview’s Britton Sperry, who finished the season with a .358 batting average to go with a .489 on base percentage, one home run, 29 RBI’s and 33 runs scored. He was also named the Lake Country Conference Offensive Player of the Year, and will play college baseball this fall for East Central University in Ada. 

On the mound he went 3-1 with one save, 24 strikeouts in 22.1 innings pitched.

Coach of the Year honors were given to Plainview’s Ryan Luhmann, who helped lead the Indians to their first regional tournament since 2016, and their first 20-win season since 2017. 

Other members representing the Plainview squad will be Layne Davis and Braden Landis.

Davis went 9-1 on the mound this season with one save, finishing with an ERA of 2.01 with 55 strikeouts and 19 walks in 52 innings pitched. 

Landis finished the season with a .376 batting average to go with 24 runs scored, 28 RBI’s and 44 hits for the year. Both Landis and Davis were both named to the Lake Country Conference All-Conference team.

Representing the Sulphur Bulldogs will be Reese Ratchford, Nash Matlack and Taigen White. 

Ratchford was named as the Lake Country Conference Newcomer of the Year, and finished with 43 hits for the season with 42 runs scored along with 28 RBI’s. He also had a .439 batting average and a .622 slugging percentage. 

Matlack was named to the LCC All-Conference team and finished the year with a .426 batting average to go with 21 RBI’s and 38 runs scored with 23 hits. 

White finished with 39 hits this season at the plate with eight doubles and two triples. He scored 46 runs this season with 26 RBI’s, finishing with a .375 batting average, and a .488 on base percentage.

On the mound, White went 7-1 this season with 49 innings pitched, finishing with a 2.71 ERA for the season in which he allowed just 41 hits for the year.

Marietta will be represented by Javier Sanchez and Trace Stewart. 

Sanchez was named as the LCC Co-Pitcher of the Year while going 8-2 on the mound this season, while totaling a .463 batting average with three home runs and an. 897 fielding percentage.

Stewart meanwhile was also an All-Conference selection for the LCC this season, and finished with a .684 average for the year with two home runs to go with an .821 on base percentage and an .819 fielding percentage.

The Lone Grove Longhorns will be represented by Casen Presgrove and Nate Sudderth. 

Presgrove finished the season with a .352 average to go with a .388 on base percentage and a .527 slugging percentage. He totaled 32 hits for the season with 27 RBI’s and 25 runs scored, and a .782 fielding percentage. He was also an All-Conference selection for the LCC, and a Class 3A All-Star by Class selection by the Oklahoma Coaches Association. 

Sudderth finished with a 1.83 ERA on the mound this season with a 5-3 record in 46 innings pitched. He allowed just 12 earned runs all season with 26 walks and 56 strikeouts.

At the plate the sophomore finished with a .305 batting average to go with a .437 on base percentage and a .451 slugging percentage with 25 hits and 16 RBI’s for the season.

Ringling will be represented by Zack Cargile and Dakota Snodgrass.

Snodgrass led the Blue Devils with 21 RBI’s this season, with 18 hits and 18 runs scored. He finished with a .340 batting average and a. 929 fielding percentage.

On the mound, Snodgrass finished with a 4-2 record and a 1.50 ERA with 50 strikeouts and just 31 walks allowed for the season in 49 innings pitched. 

Cargile finished with a .357 batting average at the plate with a team-leading 20 hits for the season with 10 runs scored and 15 runs scored and a .979 fielding percentage. 

The Ardmore Tigers will be represented on the team by Raven Henderson who finished with a .338 batting average to go with 12 RBI’s and a .429 on base percentage and a .810 fielding percentage. 

The Wilson Eagles will be represented by Shane Honea who finished with a .375 average for the season with a .446 on base percentage with 15 RBI’s, 13 runs scored and 10 stolen bases. 

Dickson will be represented on the team by Rusty Beard, Mason Marks, and Bryce Tibbs.

Beard finished the season with a .386 batting average to go with a .511 slugging percentage with 20 stolen bases and 23 RBI’s, while also throwing out more than 30 percent of runners attempting to steal.

Marks finished with a 3.06 ERA this season on the mound while striking out 68 batters in 50 innings pitched. 

Tibbs finished with a .284 batting average with 18 runs scored and 23 stolen bases. 

Tibbs and Beard were both named LCC All-Conference selections this season. 

Davis will be represented by Raydyn Amos, Jace Idleman, and Trey Parker.
