The Carter County infant that went missing Wednesday night has been found, however, the suspect involved has not been apprehended.
Carter County Sheriff Chris Bryant said the four-month-old child was found in Tahlequah around 2 a.m. on Thurs day. “The baby was unharmed,” Bryant said and is currently in the protective custody of the Tahlequah Police Department.
The infant is believed to have been taken by 33-year-old Danny Gordon, who is suspected to be the child’s father.
Bryant said Gordon was last seen in Tahlequah and the Carter County Sheriff’s Department is currently seeking his whereabouts with help from the FBI, U.S. Marshals and the Muskogee, Tahlequah and Ardmore Police Departments.
“He is on the run,” Bryant said. “He is the suspect in this and we are trying to find him, along with other agencies.”
Gordon is believed to be driving a 2015 Dodge Challenger with a license plate number of BQSO57, according to a release sent out by the CCSD.
According to the release, Gordon, who may be armed, allegedly took the child from its mother before attempting to run her over with his vehicle.
