Josh was the loving husband of Katie Nelson of Oklahoma City. He was the son of the late Penny Nelson and Tim R. Nelson and grandson of Sharon Lucas Stewart and Tommy Nelson.

Josh attended Putnam City schools and graduated from Putnam North High School.

Josh had many accomplishments in his life. He loved to work on automobiles, and gleaned from working for O’Reilly’s and Autozone in previous years.

Presently he was a security guard for GW Securities of Oklahoma City. Josh loved his new career and his fellow workers. He took pride in wearing the uniform and took his job very seriously.

Josh was an active participant of The National Institute for Developmental Delays with Father Paul Zahler, of St. Gregorys, Shawnee. He enjoyed camp activities, working with Father Paul and helping children with challenges. It was there that Josh fell in love with horses used in Father Paul’s programs and became an excellent rider. He loved being a cowboy.

Joshua was a strong believer in God and was baptized at Life Church in Oklahoma City. Josh and Katie took part in the youth activities and they found much happiness in being a part of the youth and working with them.

Josh was preceded in death by his mother Penny Nelson and his grandmother, Sharon Lucas Stewart.

He is survived by his wife Katie Nelson, his father, Tim R. Nelson, grandfather Tommy Nelson, his brother Elwyn Nelson and wife Whitney and nieces Kylie Blackston and Skylar Nelson, his sister-in-law, Julie Wilder and nieces, Ellie and Hayley Wilder. Special acknowledgements are for his Aunt Lisa Portwood, Aunt Gina Preston, Cousin, Mike Preston, Aunt Rae Ellen Stewart, Uncle Jon Stewart, Uncle Ron Lucas, Aunt Gail Lucas, special friend Candy Coffee, God-Father Dan Blubaugh, and numerous other family members who loved Josh.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 15, at Grace Community Church, 808 E. Highland in Tecumseh. Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery in Shawnee.
