Services for Jeremy Shawn Rambo, 42, of Mesquite, Texas, formerly of Marietta, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Marietta with Rev. Frank Lorne and Dr. Darnell Wagner officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairieview Cemetery under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta.
Jeremy was born Aug. 5, 1976, in Ardmore, the son of Annette Rambo Lawson and Rev. Paul Lawson. He passed away at UT Southwestern Hospital in Dallas on Saturday, June 22, 2019.
Jeremy grew up in Marietta and was a graduate of the Class of 1994. In high school he was active in the choir. After graduation, Jeremy attended ATI in Dallas studying business, where he graduated with high honors. Jeremy worked at Teleperformance in Dallas where he was a two-time recipient of the “Blue Diamond Award.” This was the highest honor awarded to the employees in the company for their dedicated and outstanding work. At the time of his death, Jeremy was employed at NTTA in Dallas as a customer service representative. He was well thought of with the supervisor telling his family that he was one of the best agents and very dependable.  
Jeremy enjoyed reading, playing games, bowling, watching Family Feud and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He loved most of all playing the bass guitar and keyboard. The bass was his favorite. Jeremy was gifted by God and never had a guitar or keyboard lessons. He played for the Mt. Zion Baptist Church since high school. Jeremy was a member of the Mt. Zion Brotherhood, served as Sunday School Secretary and he would do whatever needed to be done, he was a very faithful and dedicated member. He and his grandfather, Eugene Rambo, traveled many places to sing. Jeremy was a member of the Love County Community Choir, The Gospel Music Workshop of America – the Dallas Chapter and The National Gospel Promoters Convention in Atlanta, all of which he served as a musician playing the bass guitar for. Jeremy was always willing to help, never turning down anyone that needed his help. He loved people, he loved his church family and his family. He will be sorely missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Annie Mac Lawson and uncle, Dennis Rambo.
Survivors include his parents, Annette and Rev. Paul Lawson, of the home; sister, LaKeisha Lawson and fiancé Quincy Bivins of Mesquite; grandparents, Eugene and Janet Rambo of Marietta and Rev. F.M. Lawson of Ardmore; uncle, Kerry Rambo of Dallas; aunt, Danette Rambo of Mesquite; very close cousins, Janetta Rambo, Darrien Rambo, David Johnson and Darline Lee, and many other members of the family and close friends.
Serving as casket bearers will Michael Shawn Willis, Kermit Kirby, Kyric Rambo, Roshad Rambo, Richie Coleman, Brent Coleman and Quincy Bivins.
Time of visitation will be Friday, June 28, 2019 between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
