The Ardmore Police Department responded to a burglary incident early Sunday morning involving three juveniles.
APD Sgt. Bryce Woolly said officers were dispatched to G St. SW in reference to a suspicious person call. “Someone called and said that they saw three juveniles that were acting suspicious — they were checking car doors.”
Officers later located three juveniles matching the caller’s description in the 100 block of G St. SW, Woolly said. One item that had been reported missing from a vehicle was located in the possession of one of the juveniles.
“The female juvenile was holding a woman’s black wallet,” Woolly said. “The wallet had social security cards, credit cards and other miscellaneous wallet items in there.”
Officers also recovered a few credit cards belonging to other residents in the neighborhood, Woolly said.
After conducting an investigation, one juvenile was taken into custody and transported to a juvenile detention center. The other two were issued promise to appears in district court, Woolly said.
A group of juveniles had also previously been involved in multiple burglaries from July 4 to 8, resulting in the loss of thousands of dollars. Woolly said police are investigating to see whether the incidents are related.
“We’re trying to determine if this is a different group of kids or the same group, but right now we’re not sure,” Woolly said.
