In preparation for the upcoming cheer season, the Sulphur varsity co-ed squad decided to get an early start on racking up honors earlier this month in Norman.

At the Jeff and Craig camp which was held on the University of Oklahoma in Norman, the Sulphur squad brought home plenty of team and individual awards.

On the individual level, Sulphur had several members of its squad named All-Stars which included Cianna Cantu, Payton McClure, Briley Miner, Taryn Allen, Kaytee Waters, Kirby Snow, Blakeley Sanford and Kyrtleigh Snow.

Mandy Lathum and Braxtyn Sanford proved to be a solid duo as they won the Top Gun award in the co-ed stunts competition, while Cantu won the Top Gun award for motions with McClure being named a finalist.

Kobyn Connelly and Braxtyn Sanford won the Top Gun awards for tumbling while Latham, Allen, Rylee Murphy and Kyrtleigh Snow were all finalists.

Kirby Snow, Carlee Cole and Katy Whitfield all won Top Gun awards in jumping for their grade level while Jaidyn Vallandingham and Emily Barker were each named finalists.

On the team side, Sulphur brought home the superior showmanship award, along with magnificent motions, the dynamite spirit stick award, and the champions cup.

The Sulphur squad will be looking to replicate its success from last year when the team made the state finals in Tulsa, and had a pair of cheerleaders named to the All-Ardmoreite cheer team which included Presley McClure, who was awarded the Chickasaw Nation Courage Award at the Best of Preps.
