MARIETTA — For the last few seasons, there have been two girls cross country teams synonymous with the word success: Plainview and Marietta.

MARIETTA — For the last few seasons, there have been two girls cross country teams synonymous with the word success: Plainview and Marietta.

Saturday morning showed not much has changed entering the 2019 season.

Marietta managed to claim the overall team title at the Red River Showdown at Legacy Park in Marietta, with a total of 27 points, with Plainview coming in second at 35.

The gap between second and third was extremely wide as Durant totaled 100 points in third place.

Davis’ Lady Wolves finished sixth overall with a total of 165 points, as Dickson and Ardmore also ran at the event.

Mandy Sykora and Kaelyn Dobbins took control for Marietta in the race as they finished first and second overall with times of 12:28 and 12:52 respectively.

Madison Lemons was fifth overall at 13:04, with Tanasia Randall seventh at 13:22. 

Sophie Love took 12th overall for Marietta with a time of 13:42, with Abby Alvarez and Vanessa Rodriguez 15th and 16th overall with times of 14:08 and 14:13 respectively.

Other finishers for Marietta’s girls team included Isabella Slas Garcia (14:35), Rosie Castellanos (14:36), Vegas Bell (14:51), Jayleigh Blevins (15:15), Timberlee Riley (15:34), and Lexi Waterhouse (16:31). 

Plainview was well represented in the top half of the standings as well, with Madie Turner and Scarlett Williams taking third and fourth overall with identical times of 12:58. 

Katie Wiggs and Jacey Keith took eighth and ninth overall with times of 13:22 and 13:31, followed by Alli McAdams at 13:38 in 11th, and Haydn Hobbs in 13th at 13:51. 

Other finishers for Plainview included Rose Recio (14:38), Emily Butler (14:49), Olivia Heller (15:08), Morgan Foster (16:27), Savannah Sauer (17:09), Marla Williams (17:27), Hanna Wlodarczyk (17:29) and Alivia Elliott (17:41). 

Lauren Hendry was the top finisher for Dickson in 14th place overall with a time of 14:05, with teammate Ashlen Clem in 17th overall at 14:19. Katlen Clem clocked in at 15:51. 

Daitlyn Webb was the top finisher for Davis with a time of 16:08, with Jordan Brown clocking in at 16:10. Jaylee Jennings finished at 16:49 for Davis, with Cassity Stewart at 18:11, Evelyn Davis at 20:06, and Natalie Gregg at 22:48. 

Nichole Gould and Chole Cavazos ran for Ardmore at the event, clocking in with times of 19:06 and 20:47 respectively.  Plainview will be running at Duncan next week.
