Lone Grove resident, Linda Elaine Walker, 72, passed away peacefully at her home, Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019. The daughter of Earl and Elaine Sargent, she was born Aug. 9, 1947, at Pierre, S.D. Linda grew up in Onida, S.D. and graduated from Onida High School, the class of 1965 and then attended South Dakota State University.
Linda and Jerry Allen Walker were married Nov. 19, 1966. The parents of two children, Sharon and Dwayne, they would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this year.
The family moved to the Ardmore area in 1970 and later made their home in Lone Grove where they raised their children. For many years, Linda was employed at the Carter County Courthouse before becoming a receptionist at the Bone and Joint Clinic of Oklahoma in Ardmore. Retiring in 2012, Linda had made many lifelong friends through her testimony for the Lord.   
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Jerry of the home; her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jessee Humphries of Lone Grove; her mother, Ruth Elaine Sargent; her sisters, Jean West and husband, Mike of Lone Grove, Kay Huebner and husband, Donnie of Pierre, Georgia Autre and husband, Robert, Minden, Nevada; her adored grandchildren, that she loved dearly, Brook Walker, Nikki and Lindsay Humphries; great-grandson, Jaydon Dwayne and her adopted by heart grandkids, Jay Don and Jaycee Norton.
Preceding her in death was her father, Earl Sargent; brothers, David and Tom Sargent and her beloved son, Dwayne Walker.
Reverend Bruce Humphries and Brother Mark Walker will conduct a Gathering of Remembrance at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
