While the top of the district 4A-2 standings has been a pretty clear picture for the most part this season, things got a little complicated on Monday in Blanchard.

The Lady Lions managed to hand the Lone Grove Lady Horns their first district loss of the season by a 4-2 score, bringing Lone Grove to 10-3 overall and 6-1 in district play.

Lone Grove still holds the superior district point total with +51 while Blanchard still sits at +25.

Two errors in the bottom of the second gifted Blanchard a 2-0 advantage, before an RBI single brought home a third run to put the Lady Horns in an early 3-0 deficit.

Lone Grove got itself back into the game in the top of the fifth with Lexi Meadows getting an RBI bunt single which scored Noa Dodson, before Malea McMurtrey got an RBI single off a line drive to right field to score Meadows.

Blanchard though would get one more run in the bottom of the sixth through an error, as the Lady Horns finished with six total errors in the contest.

Emmy Guthrie took the loss on the mound, throwing six innings. She allowed four runs (0 earned) on five hits with 10 strikeouts.

Lone Grove is back in action today at 5 p.m. against Chickasha on the road.
