Losing streaks at any point of the season are never a good thing.

Losing streaks at any point of the season are never a good thing.

The Plainview Lady Indians were hoping to avoid one of their own Monday afternoon against Chickasha in district play.

Unfortunately, the Fighting Chicks had other ideas, as the Lady Indians dropped their second straight district game, a 15-5 decision in six innings at the Plainview Softball Field.

The loss drops Plainview to 6-11 overall and 2-6 in district play.

After Chickasha took an early 1-0 in the top of the first, Plainview tied the game in the bottom half.

Riley Grant managed to bring home Lexi Hackney with a sacrifice fly RBI to even the score.

But Chickasha responded with three runs in the second, followed by eight in the top half of the fifth inning.

Plainview did manage to respond in the bottom of the fifth with four runs.

Samara Morgan made it 12-2 with an RBI double which scored Kyra Treadwell, before Taryn Martin launched a three-run home run to left field to make it 12-5.

Unfortunately, the Lady Indians rally was met with three runs by Chickasha in the top of the sixth, putting the game out of reach.

Grant took the loss on the mound for Plainview, throwing six innings. She allowed eight earned runs on 13 hits with three walks and five strikeouts.

Plainview will host Blanchard today beginning at 5 p.m.
