After securing third place in District 3A-3 and a spot in the regional tournament on Monday, the Davis Lady Wolves kept their momentum going on Tuesday against Little Axe.

Davis needed just one 10-run inning to dispatch Little Axe, as the Lady Wolves moved to 19-9 overall and 8-3 in district play with the victory in four innings.

Through two innings, the Lady Wolves had been kept off the scoreboard at 0-0.

But then the third inning happened.

Back-to-back bunts from Madi Merrell and Paige Miller led to errors, which allowed Mikayla Dodds and Lexi Ryan to score making it 2-0.

Alexis Barnes made it 3-0 with an RBI groundout.

Miller would later score to make it 4-0 after a hard ground ball from Lynsey Martin resulted in an error.

Chole Summers then broke the game open when she smashed a three-run home run to center field, making it a 7-0 Lady Wolves lead.

Merrell then struck again as the Lady Wolves batted around, this time with a two-RBI single to center field to put the Lady Wolves on the verge of victory.

Merrell would then finished off the game when she scored on a passed ball.

Ryan finished the game 2-for-2 with two runs scored, while Gracie Eggleston was 2-for-3.

Kourtney Randell was also 2-for-2 in the game.

Kobee Jones got the win on the mound for the Lady Wolves, throwing four innings.
