In preparation for the upcoming Lake Country Conference tournament as well as the Regional Tournament, the Sulphur Lady Bulldogs decided to test their skills against the District 2A-7 champions Latta Lady Panthers on Tuesday.

While they held an early lead, the Lady Bulldogs weren’t able to prevail in this battle of 20-plus win teams, as Latta won at Sulphur by a score of 8-4.

Blakelyn Barber got Sulphur on the board in the bottom of the second with an RBI groundout which scored Hailey Keith to make it 1-0.

Latta though had a response as the Lady Panthers jumped into the lead in the top of the third with three runs.

But Sulphur managed to tie the game thanks to Meredith Jones getting an RBI bunt single which scored Makella Mobly in the bottom half of the third.

Jones and Mobly combined again in the fifth to give Sulphur the lead when Jones hit a line drive to center field for a double which scored Mobly to make it 4-3.

But the Lady Panthers  managed to score five runs in the top of the seventh to claim their 25th victory of the season.
