Two individuals were killed in a head on collision late Monday night.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around midnight, 3.5 miles south of Coleman, in Johnston County.
Zachary Dean Harris, 21, of Ardmore was reportedly heading north on State Highway 48 in a 2001 Chevrolet Pickup and William Martin Gahagan, 57, of Prague was heading south in a 2006 Kia Sedona.
For an unknown reason, Harris’s vehicle allegedly crossed the center line and stuck Gahagan head on, the OHP reported. Both drivers were pinned and later pronounced dead at the scene by Mercy EMS personnel after being extricated by Tishomingo, Coleman and Durant Fire Departments.
Harris and Gahagan were transported to Clark’s Funeral home in Tishomingo, according to the OHP. The cause of the collision is still under investigation and the roadways were reportedly dry with clouds present at the time of the collision.
