However, in order for it to continue, the Falcons will have to do things the hard way.

Turner managed to keep its season alive on Thursday as it won its opening game at the district tournament at Duke, before falling in the winners bracket game against the host Tigers.

Turner opened the day with a 12-6 victory over Sentinel.

Turner scored two runs in the first inning, before adding five more runs in the bottom of the second.

Sentinel scored one in the top of the third, before making things interesting with two more runs in the top of the fifth.

However., the Falcons had a response as they scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth, before Sentinel tried to rally with three in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough.

Ridge Parker led the Falcons offense against Sentinel going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and five total RBI’s in the game.

Tyler Campbell went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI’s in the game, while Javon Wolfe and Lane Carter each had one RBI in the game.

Campbell got the win on the mound for Turner, throwing 2 1/3 innings.

He allowed three earned runs on three hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

Duke defeated the Falcons in the second game of the day by a score of 13-1 in five innings.
