The Ardmore Police Department has released more information regarding an alleged armed robbery that took place Tuesday afternoon.
APD Capt. Keith Ingle said officers have identified the suspect as 22-year-old Zackary Gage Pebley of Wilson. Pebley is suspected of robbing the Bank of the West, located off N Commerce Street, at gun point around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Ingle said over $3,000 in cash was allegedly taken from the bank and recovered by a citizen who tackled Pebley during the incident and assisted police in his arrest.
“Officers arrived on scene in less than a minute of getting the call and the suspect was apprehended less than 30 minutes later with the help of a local citizen and a successful track by Cpl. Cody Garrett and K-9 Lucky,” Ingle said in a press release.
Officers recovered a handgun and knife from Pebley at the time of the arrest and Pebley is currently being held at the Carter County Jail for the potential charge of first degree robbery. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating the case further.
