Knowing a victory would get them right back in the playoff hunt, the Madill Wildcats felt more than a sense of urgency Thursday night at home against Blanchard.   Unfortunately, the Lions just had too much firepower.   Despite staying in the game early, Madill couldn’t slow down Blanchard as the Wildcats fell 35-14 at Blake Smiley Stadium, dropping them to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in district play.   Madill is back in action at 7:30 p.m. next Friday night on the road against the McLoud Redskins.   Blanchard took the lead at the 9:41 mark of the first quarter when Colby Langford found Chase Fox for a 41 yard touchdown pass to make it 7-0.   Madill though was right back in it less than five minutes later when John Venable got a five yard touchdown run to make it 7-6 after the failed extra point.   Blanchard though extended its lead just before the end of the quarter when Bryce Madron dashed his way in from 21 yards out to make it 14-6.   The Lions got the only touchdown of the second quarter when Madron pushed his way in from two yards out to make it 21-6 at the half.   However, the Wildcats came out strong in the third as Venable got his second touchdown of the game at the 5:27 mark, when he recovered a Lions fumble and returned it 33 yards for the touchdown to make it 21-14 after the successful two-point conversion by Venable.   Turnabout was fair play though just before the end of the quarter when Colin Deaton intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown and a 28-14 lead.   Madron finished off the game in the fourth with a 12 yard touchdown run for Blanchard.   Venable finished the game with 19 carries for 71 yards and one touchdown, while Mateo Fajardo had seven carries for 35 yards.
