After two straight losses, the No. 7 Sulphur Bulldogs were in need of a spark Friday night. It came in the form of Tavius McDonald and Reese Ratchford. The two Bulldogs players combined to do all the scoring for the red and white against the Douglass Trojans as Sulphur won 35-0 at Moses F. Miller Stadium in Oklahoma City. McDonald got the scoring started in the first quarter as he raced his way 30-yards for the touchdown before Kyle Stevenson converted the extra point for a 7-0 lead. Ratchford then got in on the action as he got a 15-yard rushing touchdown to make it 14-0 after the extra point. The Bulldogs then got a second touchdown from Ratchford, who ran in for the score from 20-yards out to end the first quarter at 21-0. McDonald then got his second touchdown of the night early in the second as he ran in from 40 yards out to make it 28-0. Sulphur then finished off the game in style just before halftime as McDonald got a 70-yard punt return for a touchdown. The victory officially clinched a playoff berth for the Bulldogs, who will be the third seed out of District 3A-2. Sulphur will end the regular season at 7 p.m. Friday night at Calvin Agee Field in Sulphur against the Pauls Valley Panthers. The Bulldogs will then open the playoffs the following week against the No. 2 seed out of District 3A-1, which will be Perkins-Tryon.
