A Sulphur man was reportedly killed in a Murray County collision Tuesday evening.

The collision occurred around 4:18 p.m. on U.S. 177 and Buel Green Road, three miles north of Sulphur, according to reports by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

A 69-year-old Choctaw man was traveling southbound in a 2018 Chevrolet Pickup and reportedly slowed to make a turn. Dorsey Wells, 89, of Sulphur, who was also traveling southbound in a 2007 Honda Ridgeline SUV, allegedly failed to stop and struck the other vehicle.

According to trooper reports, Wells was transported to the Arbuckle Memorial Hospital in Sulphur, where he was pronounced deceased by a staff doctor.

The other driver did not sustain any injuries, however, a passenger in his pickup, a 67-year-old woman, reportedly sustained minor trunk injuries.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Seatbelts were reportedly in use in the pickup, but not the SUV. The roadway was reportedly clear and the weather was cloudy at the time of the collision.
