This Saturday, Ardmore Regional Dog Park is inviting everyone to come give thanks for their four-legged friends at their annual Barksgiving event. The morning’s activities will include a costume contest, doggy treats, a dog kissing booth, and plenty of play time with other dogs.
Recreation Director Tes Stewart said events like Barksgiving are always her favorites.
“We try to do at least two dog events every year, and they’re always such a great time,” Stewart said. “I always bring my two dogs and I know they have tons of fun playing with the others.”
While dog costumes are not required, the dogs with the winning outfits will receive prizes.
“It was great last year and we had some really cute costumes,” Stewart said. “We had some turkeys. We had some pilgrims. We had a little bit of everything.”
The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon, but Stewart said anyone who might be running a little late to go ahead and come on out.
“It’s supposed to be a really pretty day on Saturday, so it’s going to be a great time,” Stewart said. “Even if you don’t get there right at 10, we’re going to be there until noon. So come on out because there’s going to be plenty of treats to go around, and the dogs always have so much fun.”
