The Ardmore Police Department has released additional information regarding a recent homicide investigation.

Officers reportedly found 63-year-old Martin Lucas deceased inside his residence near Q St. NW while conducting a welfare check last weekend.

APD Capt. Eric Hamblin said there was evidence of blunt-force trauma all over the victim’s body.

Hamblin said the only way a person could sustain such injuries to his or herself is if he or she jumped off a building, or something to that degree. “But I don’t think he did that in his living room,” he said.

Officers are currently following up on additional information received regarding the case, however, the search for a suspect is still in progress, Hamblin said.

Police believe the suspect may have stolen the victim’s vehicle from the residence and are requesting the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle.

The vehicle is described as a 2004 dark green Chevrolet extended cab pickup with aftermarket wheels and tires and the Oklahoma license plate number JMB-290.
