The Ardmore Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating an individual believed to have violated his sex offender registration status.

Jody Deere, 49, reportedly attempted to register as a sex offender with the Ardmore Police Department on Nov. 22. However, APD Capt. Eric Hamblin said Deere gave officers a false address.

When officers went to verify the address Deere had provided, all they found was an empty lot, Hamblin said. “I wouldn’t think he would give a false address unless he was doing it on purpose,” he said.

The address listed was also within 2,000 feet of a school, daycare, or city park. Residency restrictions bar sex offenders from living within 2,000 feet of such facilities.

Hamblin said Deere has reportedly lived in the Ardmore area before. However, officers are unsure where he may be now.

Anyone with information regarding Jody Deere’s whereabouts is encouraged to call their local law enforcement or the Ardmore Police Department at (580) 221-2576 or (580) 223-1212.
