With Christmas quickly approaching, the Ardmore Main Street Authority is once again offering some extra incentive to do your shopping in the Depot District. Beginning today, Holly Jolly Shopping Days return to numerous downtown businesses and for every $20 spent in a participating business, the customer gets one ticket entered into a drawing with prizes of $1,000, $750, or $500 Depot Dollars.

AMSA General Manager Jeff DiMiceli said there will be approximately 25 different businesses participating in this year’s program and it will run from Friday, November 29 to Friday, December 20.

“We’ll be holding the drawing on Saturday, December 21. The grand prize is $1,000 Depot Dollars, second place is $750 Depot Dollars, and third place is $500 Depot Dollars, that they can then turn around and spend at any of those participating businesses.

The Depot Dollars certificates will be good until June 30, 2020, so that will encourage winners to continue shopping downtown through the early summer.

“It’s a great deal because they are supporting small businesses when they shop there at first, and then they’re supporting small business again because the winners get to turn that money right back into the downtown.”

DiMiceli said starting on Thursday, December 5 several businesses will remain open every Thursday evening until 7 p.m. through the week before Christmas.

“Several businesses will stay open until 7 p.m. the first three Thursday nights in December,” DiMiceli said. “It was very successful last year, and we got a lot of great feedback and positive comments about that last year, so we’re bringing it back again.

iMiceli said several businesses will also be decorating inside their store windows this year and this along with the Holly Jolly Shopping Days are all about bringing a sense of energy and excitement to the Depot District this Christmas season.

I think it’s going to be a great holiday season,” DiMiceli said. “People are already starting to light up their windows, which we’re really excited about. This will be the first year we’ve seen very much of that, so I think this year is going to be the start of some great things happening.”
