MADILL — It’s been a long time since the Madill Basketball teams got off to identical hot starts.   While Thursday might have been the start of the annual Madill Winter Classic tournament, the Wildcats and Lady Wildcats decided to turn up the heat on the competition.   Both Madill teams strolled to victories over Putnam Heights Academy, moving them to 2-0 on the season.   Madill will be back in action this evening at 6 and 7:30 p.m. taking on Marietta.   Girls   Madill 58 Putnam Heights 4   There was no slowing down the Lady Wildcats Thursday night as they shined on defense, leading to a blowout victory.   Madill scored 23 points in the opening quarter, while holding Putnam Heights to just one point.   The Lady Wildcats added 15 points in the second followed by eight in the third.   Putnam Heights was blanked in both the second and third quarters, before scoring three points in the fourth.   Ximena Gomez led the Lady Wildcats with 11 points followed by Kristen Chapa with 10 points.   Boys   Madill 56 Putnam Heights 45   For the first time under head coach Bret Weiberg, the Madill Wildcats are 2-0 to start the season after taking care of business against Putnam Heights.   Madill managed to hold a slim 14-12 advantage at the end of the first quarter, before going on a 19-12 run to end the first half.   The Wildcats were able to claim the victory in the second half by outscoring Putnam Heights 23-21.   Miguel Duran led the Wildcats in scoring with 18 points.
