Saturday afternoon at the Madill Winter Classic came with it a couple of familiar feelings for the Sulphur Bulldogs. While the Bulldogs did manage to pick up a 79-59 over Putnam Heights to move to 3-0 on the season, they once again had to come from behind to do it at Wildcat Fieldhouse. At the end of the first quarter, Sulphur had battled back from an early deficit to close to within three at 17-14. An 18-10 run in the second quarter gave the Bulldogs the advantage going into the break at 32-27. Sulphur began to pull away in the third quarter thanks to a 25-point explosion on offense, which gave the Bulldogs a commanding 57-37 lead going to the fourth. Both teams scored 22 points apiece in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs held on for the victory. Cole Hammond led the scoring for the Bulldogs with 19 points in the game followed by TJ Todd with 15 points and Weston Arms with 14 points. Price Daube and Reese Ratchford had eight points apiece in the contest.
