A Texas man was apprehended in Ardmore for allegedly engaging in lewd or indecent acts with a child under the age of 16.
On Friday, Dec. 6, Ardmore Police Department officers were reportedly dispatched to the 2200 block of N. Rockford in reference to an officer’s request, said APD Capt. Eric Hamblin.
“They were dispatched in reference to a question a parent had about the child,” Hamblin said. “That was the initial call. An officer’s request is saying ‘Hey can you send an officer out here so I can ask some questions’.”
Through further investigation officers reportedly discovered an ongoing relationship between 28-year-old Daniel Lara Lozano of Carrollton, Texas, and the juvenile.
“Essentially what occurred was a young child or juvenile had met this person and at this time it’s under investigation exactly the means in which they met,” Hamblin said. “He lived in Texas and she lived here and there’s been an ongoing relationship between the two since they met.”
Hamblin said police allegedly found enough reason to arrest Lozano for lewd or indecent proposals or acts to a child under 16, however, the investigation is ongoing.
Lozano is currently being held at the Carter County Jail and charges will likely be sent over to the District Attorney’s office, Hamblin said.
“The investigation is ongoing, we’re continuing on with it,” Hamblin said. “We’re still following up on stuff.”
