TURNER — Through four games this season, the Turner Falcons have been able to find success when reaching a magic number of 50 points. Monday night, their trend guided them towards a fifth straight win to start the season. The Oklahoma School for the Deaf Indians proved to be a tougher challenge than expected at Falcon Gymnasium, but Turner managed to overcome a stellar individual performance from Isiah Holt as he scored 28 points, but the Falcons managed to hang on for a 53-42 victory. OSD managed to keep the game close in the first quarter at 2-2, before Turner Took the lead at 4-2, before the lead was cut to 6-4 at the 5:16 mark of the opening frame. But Turner managed to finish off the first quarter with an 8-5 run to lead 14-9 going to the second. However, the Indians didn’t stay down for long as they tied the game up at 14-14 with 6:51 left before halftime. But the Falcons had an ace of their sleeve in the form of a 17-2 run to end the first half as Turner led 31-16 going into the break. OSD managed to keep itself in the game with a 10-9 third quarter run, before closing to within nine points at 51-42 with 2:06 left in regulation. A late layup though sealed the victory for the Falcons and a 13-point fourth quarter performance. Tyler Manek scored four points in the game for the Indians with Pablo Gomez and Chris Harmon each putting in four points apiece. Tyler Campbell led the Falcons with 19 points followed by Ridge Parker with eight points, while Jud Eakins scoring seven points. Hunter Johnson and Devin Davis each scored six points for the Falcons.
