The Davis Police Department is continuing to search for a local teenager now allegedly missing for more than a month.

Chief of Police Danny Cooper said Shelby Cooper was last seen getting on a school bus on November 11 and has been entered into the National Crime Info Center as a runaway.

Cooper’s parents reportedly received a text message from the teen on Sunday, Dec. 14. However, the message was from a private number and officers have not been able to trace the number back to Cooper yet.

“She has contacted her parents by text message but she still has not told us where she’s at,” Danny Cooper said.

Officers believe she may be in the Midwest City or Del City area and that she is likely not in immediate danger.

“We believe that she is safe. We figure that if she was in immediate danger, the people wouldn’t make it readily available for her to be able to text or message her parents,” Danny Cooper said. “We would just like to know where she’s at physically.”

Cooper is described as 5’5” tall, with a medium build, brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with any information on the teen’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Davis Police Department at 580-369-2323.
