While it is still early in the season, the Ardmore wrestling team is taking any signs of progress they can get.   This was never more clear than this past weekend at the Southern Oklahoma Invitational tournament in Duncan, where the Tigers wrestlers endured a stacked field of competition.   In total, three wrestlers from Ardmore came away with placing as Cameron Orr took fourth at 106 pounds with Oscar Interiano and Gavin Hobbs finishing in sixth overall in the 138 and 220 pound weight classes.   “We didn’t do as well as we hoped we would, but we’re using this as an assessment of where we are right now as a team,” Ardmore coach Devin Martinez said. “There’s still a lot of things we need to work on, but we’re doing a lot of things well.”   “I thought Cameron wrestled really well for us this weekend,” Martinez added. “He continues to improve and we’re excited to watch him grow and keep getting better. He’s got a lot of heart. January is going to be a meat grinder of a month for us with our schedule, but the goal is for our wrestlers to use it in order to start peaking in February.”   Ardmore will be back in action at Sulphur on Jan. 7 before hosting Ada on Jan. 9.   The Tigers will then travel to the Dallas Metroplex for the Trojan Classic tournament at Euless Trinity High School on Jan. 10-11.
