The Lone Grove Fire Department responded to a structure fire Tuesday, which officials believe may have been arson.
Lone Grove Fire Chief Stacey Phelps said the trailer home, located off of Rolling Hills Rd., was partially engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived around 4:47 p.m.
“We had it under control about 15 to 20 minutes after we got there,” Phelps said. However, the damage was extensive.
Phelps said the damage to the trailer home is being considered a total loss. Another trailer home only a few feet away reportedly remained clear from the fire danger.
No one was injured in the fire — in fact, Phelps said the trailer home had been empty for some time and no utilities were connected. “There was no electricity, no gas, so something had to start it.”
Phelps said this led officials to believe someone must have started the fire, at which point the investigation was turned over to the Office of the Oklahoma State Fire Marshal.
There are no suspects at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
