An Ardmore woman was apprehended Tuesday for an outstanding warrant for allegedly engaging in lewd or indecent acts with a child under 16.

Ardmore Police Department Sgt. Larry Payne said the incident was first reported to the department in December, 2019.

Through further investigation, Payne said police allegedly found enough evidence to support filing a warrant of arrest for 24-year-old Kaylee Nicole Herman.

According to Carter County court documents, Herman is accused of having intentionally touched the private parts of a juvenile female sometime between Sep. 8 and Dec. 2, 2019. The victim was reportedly under the age of 16 at the time and Herman was 24.

The warrant was filed March 3 and completed a week later on March 10. “I guess her attorney made arrangements for her to turn herself in,” Payne said.

Herman reportedly bonded out of jail March 10. A preliminary conference is scheduled for April 16. If found guilty, Herman could face up to 20 years of imprisonment in the Oklahoma State Penitentiary.
