Concerns over the spread of coronavirus to patients prompted hospitals across Oklahoma to impose visitor restrictions this week. The Oklahoma Hospital Association on Friday warned that people may see new rules in place, including restricted entry points and brief screenings for visitors.
Mercy Hospitals in Oklahoma announced patients will be allowed one visitor at a time to protect patients and staff. The rule, which went into effect on Saturday morning, also prohibits children under 16 or anybody with a fever or cough. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis to allow certain visitors for patients near the end of life, according to a Friday statement.
Patients with appointments at Mercy hospital locations in Healdton, Love County, or other buildings of the Ardmore campus will not be impacted.
