The Veterans of Foreign Wars-Shawnee is hosting its annual ceremonies for Memorial Day at various cemeteries in Shawnee.

According to Shawnee VFW member Don Plumley, members of the community are invited to Fairview Cemetery on Saturday, May 23 at 8 a.m. to put out flags.

Plumley also said people are invited to lay out wreaths on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25 at 11 a.m. at the flagpoles at Fairview Cemetery.

In addition, Plumley explained at noon in Veterans Park people can also lay out wreaths at the Memorial Wall.

Lastly, Plumley said people are invited to help pick up flags at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26.
