Elihu ”Hue” Meadows, Jr.

Elihu “Hue” Meadows, Jr. The son of the late Elihu Meadows, Sr. and Lavara Meadows, Elihu (Hue) was born on August 14, 1942 and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 15, 2022 at the age of 80 years old. Hue was a long time resident of Ardmore Ok, where he made it his home. Hue prior to moving to Ardmore to be with the family lived in Boston, Massachusetts where he enjoyed deep sea fishing out at Cape Cod. He truly enjoyed any type of fishing no matter if it was freshwater or out on the ocean in early mornings, he would say “that’s when the fishing was good”.

As a US Army veteran, Elihu served in the US Army during 1964 to 1966 during a Peace Time Period in the United States. He suffered a partial injury to his hearing as a result of firing large 80 Mil Mortar Weapons Systems at close range.

Prior to moving to Ardmore, he lived in Boston, MA where he was one of the Best Taxi Drivers in the city. He would jump a curve or island to get his fare. Hue loved to fish and tell stories of the “Big One”. He would often not catch anything and would go by the local store and purchase a fish and tell us this long story, just to prove his point of catching the big one. He was always fun loving and an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners Football team! He accepted Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior a few years ago and started attending Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Ardmore. Under the stewardship and Pastoring of Rev. John Roberts, he came to realize what was missing in his life. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends here on earth.

He leaves to cherish his beloved stories and memories, his Sister, Alice Roberts; Brother, Terry Williams and wife Linda; Sister-in-Law, Dona Williams; Niece, Christy Johnson; Nephews, Lance Johnson and D’Andre Mosley; Niece Jackie Cannady; Nephew, Christopher Williams; Niece Rachel Myers and husband Simon; nephew, Benjamin Williams and wife Jessica, niece Christine Burns and husband Markus, nephew Isaac Williams, and a host of extended family members of nieces, nephews and close friends; Hue was always so thankful for his longtime friend, Donald Purttle, who stood by his side during the end of his life. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Florence Meadows; brother, Reverend Wendell Williams, Jr.; and a niece, Sharon Mosley.

Memorial Home Going Celebration for Elihu Meadows, Jr. will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 22, 2022 with Reverend John Roberts officiating at the Holiday Inn, I-35, Meeting Room A, in Ardmore, OK.
