Steven Jay Lewis, a resident of Pauls Valley was born May 21, 1957 in NAS Patuxent River, Md., to Eddie Van and Charlene (Howe) Lewis. He passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, at the age of 62 years 4 months and 20 days.
He was married to Donna (Moffitt) Lewis at Pauls Valley on July 1, 2015. Steve grew up in Ardmore where he graduated high school in 1976. He attended OSU and Rose State College before going to the University of Oklahoma where he played football for the Sooners. He had owned and operated Steve's Steak Barn for several years. Steve had lived in Wynnewood since 2014. He was a member of Church of Christ. Steve was a Shriner. He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Van Lewis; sister, Robyn J. Velarde; his grandparents: James and Opal Howe, J.O and Della Lewis.
Survived by his wife, Donna Lewis of Pauls Valley; step-son and wife, Kevin Pickett and Amber of Pauls Valley; step-son he raised, Shane McKinnon of Ardmore; mother, Charlene Gilliam of Sulphur; grandchildren: Ethan Gonzales, Eli Pickett, Kash Pickett; brother and his wife, Bobby Lewis and Kelly of Dallas, brother-in-law, Juan Velarde of Sulphur; sisters-in-law: Allison Turner and husband, Wayne, Diane Mays and Curt Giaweski; Marion Meadows and husband, Daryl and Jodi Miller. Several nieces and nephews including; Kalor, Logan, Mason, Bridges and Van.
Memorial services were held at 10:30 a.m Tuesday, Oct, 15, 2019, at Vinita Ave Church of Christ officiated by Mark Wiley.
