Services for Frank Allen Hobbie of Ardmore will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel of Marietta with Chaplain Matt Benedick officiating.
Frank was born on Dec. 5, 1947, to Ben Hobbie and Wanda Lee Hobbie in Wapanucka, Okla. He went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore at the age of 71.
Frank spent most of his life in Carter County where he was a machinist for Uniroyal. He married Deborah K. Coyle July 15, 1999, in Gainesville, Texas. She preceded him in death on July 16, 2013. Frank’s whole world revolved around spending time with his grandkids. Frank enjoyed camping, fishing, playing pool and watching his granddaughter’s softball games. He loved having sleepovers, baking cookies and brownies with his grandkids in the early morning hours. Even though his camping days toward the end of life was limited to the front yard, he made sure Justice and his grandkids had the opportunity to enjoy camping as he did as a child. He was notorious for baking his children and grandkids “smash cakes” and sending a personalized birthday card to every family member. It was his way of ensuring you knew how much you were loved and that you were in his heart, thoughts and prayers on your special day. Frank was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His family meant the world to him.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Hobbie; and a sister, Dorothy Castile.
Survivors include two former wives Donna Hobbie and Connie Montemayor-Lee, four daughters, Tammy Hobbie of Milburn, Frankie Hobbie of Ardmore, Pamela Hobbie of Edmond, Lesli Marshall of Lone Grove; a son, Vince Hobbie and wife, Regina of Ardmore; a step-daughter, Cheryl Busch of Ardmore; 11 grandchildren, Joshua Allen Mayo and wife, Ashley, Tiffany Beat and husband, Damon, Jeremy Bigbie, Hunter Hobbie-Hill, Katelyn Hobbie-Hill, Madison Hobbie-Hill, Hailea Furr, Jayden Furr, Jordan Furr, Jerrite Marshall, II and Justice Cayla; six great-grandchildren, Emma Mayo, Abigail Mayo, Jaxon Mayo, Sophia Bigbie, Landyn Bigbie and Chase Beat; two nieces, Rhonda Hobbie and Staci Apala; and a nephew, Shane Hobbie.
