Graveside services with military honors for Billy Wayne Dillingham of Thackerville, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2019, in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, Okla., under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta. Officiating will be Bro. Murray McMurray.
Billy was born July 19, 1933 in McMillan, Okla., to Wayne Dillingham and Mary Noba (Smith) Dillingham. He passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, at the age of 86 at the Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta.
Billy spent most of his life in Love County. He attended schools in Lebanon. He married Shirley Jean Whitener on Dec. 25, 1952 in Gainesville, Texas. She preceded him in death on Oct. 5, 2018. Billy served in the United States Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., as a lineman near the end of the Korean conflict. After serving in the Army, he worked as a boilerman for Georgia Pacific. Billy was a member of the Thackerville Community Church, where he enjoyed his talks with Bro. Murray McMurray. Some of his interests were watching airplanes and reading books, but most of all, Billy loved spending time with his girls and grandkids.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one infant sister and one grandson, Joseph “Joey” Gooch.
Survived by three daughters, Vicki McKee and husband Larry of Rhome, Texas, Mary Kretzschmar and husband Danny of Thackerville, and Patricia Hudson of Thackerville; one sister, Aletha Smith of Santa Rosa, Calif; six grandchildren, Michelle Christopher, Russell Kretzschmar, Erik Kretzschmar, Dustin Kretzschmar, Dawn Brunkenhoefer, and Chad Whittington; twenty three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as casket bearers are Russell Kretzschmar, Erik Kretzschmar, Dustin Kretzschmar, Andy Christopher, Seth Kretzschmar, and Scott Porter. Honorary bearers are Chad Whittington, Michelle Christopher, and Dawn Brunkenhoefer.
The family suggests any memorial contributions to the Charity for the Blind.
