Georgia Ann (Atchley) Dahlgren, born March 28, 1956 to George and Willie Atchley in Sulphur, passed away at her home in Norman, Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019 at the age of 63. By her side were her two sons and daughter-in-law.
Georgia dedicated her life to her two sons and served as a school teacher for over 20 years beginning in Davis, with the last 14 years in Dickson, a place she truly loved. Due to her declining health, she retired from teaching in 2014 and soon after moved from her home in Davis to Norman to live with her son and daughter-in-law. Here, Georgia filled her days with spoiling her “kids,” gardening, reading, and quietly donating resources to people in need. She loved watching football and baseball and finding humor in everyday circumstances.
Georgia is survived by her mother, Willie Atchley, Sulphur; two sisters, Debbie Coatney, Sulphur and Letha Malloy, Byng; one brother, David Atchley, Shell Knob, Mo.; two sons, Ryan Dahlgren, Tulsa and Stephen Dahlgren, Norman; four nieces, Valerie Walker, Kelly Coatney, Jessica Malloy, Dyana Malloy, and one nephew, Brian Coatney.
Georgia is preceded in death by her father, George Atchley.
A come-and-go memorial will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Dickson High School library, 4762 State Highway 199, Ardmore, OK 73401. Contributions in memory of Georgia may be made to Dickson Public Schools c/o Karli Bumpass, memo: Georgia Dahlgren.
