Eva was born December 21, 1921 in Deese, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Ervin M. "Bob" Stafford and Martha Emeline Blankenship Stafford, and passed away on January 20, 2021 here in Ardmore.

She married Carl Ike Briscoe May 26, 1942 in Norman, Oklahoma. Eva and Carl had two children, son Lee Roy and daughter Martha Kay. Eva was a dedicated mother. Her family was very important. On her last day on earth, she was still loving and caring for her family. For Eva, her devotion was truly lifelong.

Eva was a proud Sooner State country girl and spoke of much family love and life on the farm, including the many barn dances she attended and enjoyed. She continued dancing most of her life and could really cut a rug. Her love of country life and outdoors turned her into an avid fisherman. She spent many days on the banks of Lake Texoma, or a good hidden farm pond. She passed her love of fishing on to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed bingo, horseback riding, garage sales, ceramics, collecting things, jewelry, growing plants, making jelly and delicious homemade fried pies. Eva loved life but loved the Lord equally as much. She was not afraid to go home and in fact, embraced it gracefully as she did all things in life.

Eva was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Amaranth, and had been a member of the Herman Son Lodge and the Moose Lodge. She was of the Baptist faith. She wants everyone to know she loves them.

Eva is survived by her son Lee Briscoe and wife Carolyn; son-in-law Alvin "Al" Strecker; grandchildren, Kimberly McBride and husband Larry; Leesa Thompson and husband Tommy; Scott Strecker and wife Kristen and Gus Peoples; great grandchildren, Joshua Jones and wife Gillian; Ashley and Matthew Thompson; Johnston and Henry Strecker and two great great grandchildren, Duke James and Rivka Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl, daughter Martha Strecker; stepson, Carl Robert Briscoe; sisters, Lillie Hacker, Rosie Pruett, Betty Mitchell and Mattie Emerson; and her brothers, Tommy and Fred Stafford.

Services are entrusted to Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory where words of comfort and condolences may be left for the family at www.hdouglasfuneralhome.com.
