Deborah J. Maddox
Deborah J. Maddox was born April 26, 1951 in Eunice, New Mexico to Bill Hignight and LaQuetta (Anderson) Hignight. She passed from this life on January 25, 2021 in Ardmore at the age of 69. She grew up in this area graduating from Ardmore High School in 1969 and continued her education from The University of Oklahoma graduating with a BA and MA in social work in 1971She worked as a social worker for the State of Oklahoma and then 15 years for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Washington, D.C. Deborah loved reading mystery novels and playing with her dog Missy.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents Bill and LaQuetta Hignight. She is survived by her husband William "Bill" Leidemann of Ardmore, daughters Leah J. Maddox of Madill, Carol Laffan and husband Chad of Holiday, Texas, son; Dr. Gregory J. Maddox and wife Zoe of Seattle, Washington, sister; Carolyn (Sissy) Means and husband John of Ardmore, grandchildren Scotty, Eloise, Oscar, Mavis, Ciara, Caden, special caregiver Salli Hunter and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to Elara Hospice.
Private graveside services for Deborah J. Maddox will be held at Rosehill Cemetery with Rev. Larry Landtroop officiating. Social distancing and face masks will be encouraged. Online condolences may be made to craddockfuneralhome.com.
