Edward (Eddie) Ray Almon

Services for Edward (Eddie) Ray Almon will be Tuesday, February 2, 2021, 2:00 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Donny Custar officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Eddie was born on March 19, 1947 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Aubra Ray and Betty Ann (Spurlock) Almon. He passed from this life on January 29, 2021 in Pauls Valley at home after a losing his hard fought battle with cancer.

Eddie graduated from Ardmore High School in 1965. He attended college at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in business and a minor in history. He and Rosetta Givens were married in Ardmore on August 4, 1967. Eddie worked with Cablecom for 7 years, and worked at Lincoln Bank (1st Bank), then First National Bank as a computer data processor. Eddie decided to go into the construction business and worked for Bill Jobe Construction. He then decided to open Almon Garage Door Business until he retired in 2011. Then he and Rosetta moved to Pauls Valley to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Eddie was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church most of his life and served God through running the sound system for the church for many of those years. Eddie loved playing on the church softball team in the early years and you could expect a home run almost every time he got up to bat. He was loved and respected by many.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Rosetta of the home; mother, Betty Almon of Ardmore; daughters, Pam Helvey and Cory Sturm of Lakewood, Colorado, Kim Russell and husband, Don of Pauls Valley; sister-in-law, Vicki Almon of Ardmore; grandchildren, Jake Helvey, Marshall Helvey and wife, Shelby, Sara and Madeline Russell; great grandchildren, Liam and Layla Helvey and Kase Helvey; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Cullen Almon, Jerren Almon, Marshall Helvey, Jake Helvey, Steve Spurlock, Mark Cunningham, Kevin Russell and William Landrum. Honorary bearers will be the lifelong friends at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
