Andre Ricardo "Ricky" Austin
Public viewing for Mr. Andre Ricardo "Ricky" Austin will be Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 11:30 to 12:30 at Bethel Baptist Church in Tatums, OK. Services will begin immediately after public viewing. Interment will follow at Tatums Cemetery, Tatums, OK. A public viewing for Ricky will be held at the Rolfe Funeral Home in Oklahoma City, OK on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 10:00 am to 7:00 p.m.
Rev. Kirk Rushing will give words of comfort and Rev. Frank L. Washington will officiate.
Andre Ricardo "Ricky" Austin was born on March 13, 1953 in Tulsa, OK to the late Barnett "Boot Cat" McConnell and the late Erma Jean Austin. He is the grandson of the late James and Lille Bell Austin and Grace McConnell. He departed this life on February 3, 2021 at Integris South West Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK.
Ricky grew up in Tatums, OK. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He graduated from Fox High School in 1972. Ricky played basketball, baseball, ran track and was an outstanding football player. He earned numerous honors - awards in football and had several offers to Division I Universities. Ricky married his high school sweetheart Fredia Williams and to this union one child was born LuCretia V. Austin. He was employed by B & B Tool Company for many years. Ricky was a very humorous person who made others laugh. He was always willing to help others in any way that he could by cooking, cleaning or taking care of their children. Ricky's life dream was to open up a barbeque restaurant in his home town of Tatums. Ricky had a passion for working with the Tatums and Ratliff City Fire Departments. Ricky loved his family and had a special bond with his brother Johnny Ray and they talked on the phone daily. He also had a close relationship with his Uncle Don and they talked on the phone two or three times a day weekly. He had a special love for his daughter, LuCretia and his grandson Amarion. He always checked to see if Amarion had "change" his pocket.
Love ones who have gone before: his grandparents, James and Lillie Bell Austin, and Grace McConnell. Two Brother's Barry and Mitch Crawford. His mother Erma Jean Crawford. 9 uncles, Rochester, George, Sam, Roscoe, Melvin, Emmitt, Arnold, Arthur and Warner B. Austin. 4 aunts. Latricia Jones, Leta Vaye Oliver, Dorothy Alexander and Johnny Fay Holland.
Ricky leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter LuCretia V. Austin of Ardmore, OK and Grandson Amarion D. Williams of Ardmore, OK. Three brothers Johnny Ray Austin (Liz) of Tatums, OK. Anthony Crawford (Stacey), of Los Angeles, CA. Bill Crawford, of Oakland, CA. and a Very Special Uncle Don Austin, of Los Angeles, CA.
Significant other LaTosha Williams and her children LaToya Sims, and Randon Sims (Gina) and grandchildren Malachi Franklin, Messiah Franklin, Micah Sims, and Raja'nae Sims (his little princess) all of Oklahoma City, OK. As well a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
