Lt Col Alva LaDon (Don) Fincher
Lt. Col. (RET) Alva LaDon (Don) Fincher was born February 20, 1946 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma as an only child to Alva Clatice (Hoot) and Thelma Lorene (Betty) Fincher. He passed this life on March 25, 2021 in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
He graduated from Pauls Valley High School, The University of Oklahoma with a degree in Psychology, and earned his master's degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
He joined the U.S. Air Force in February of 1972. He retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During his career as a pilot, he served in Vietnam,was a Captain Air Force Two, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.
He married the love of his life Gisela Lina Wiegand in Gainseville, Texas, on July 21, 2006. They enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and Europe, visiting family and friends. Their retirement home was in Green Valley, Arizona where they made many friends.
He is preceded in death by father, Alva Clatice Fincher and his mother, Thelma Lorene Fincher.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gisela Lina Fincher; son, Lee Brad Fincher; granddaughter, Avery Elise Fincher.
