June loved life and lived it to the fullest. She owned and operated June's Dress Shop in Sulphur and Davis for many years. It is where she perfected her love of dressing up, and she always did. She loved going to market finding beautiful things for the women in her community. After moving to Ardmore, she worked in real estate until retirement.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, First National Bank First Ladies, (daughter Patti worked there for many years. Her friends at the bank adopted June as extended family and continued to love and visit her after Patti's death) She was also a longtime member of the Elks Lodge, (we know there are stories that could be told).
June also had a special circle of friends in her "Red Hat Ladies" She loved that chapter of her life that gave her the perfect excuse to dress up even more. They might have hung up their hats, but their friendships endured.
Just like at the bank, Patti's beloved Plainview Tribe of lifelong friends became June's extended family, sharing holidays and hospitals, laughter and tears.
June was smart and funny and strong. When life presented terribly hard and painful blows, she would take a deep breath, sit up straight and say "I'll get through this". When life was light and happy, she joyfully danced every dance with a twinkle in her eye.
