Virgil Ray Bishop
Virgil Ray Bishop passed away peacefully at home at 80 years, 8 months, 24 days on Sunday, April 4, 2021. He was born on July 11, 1940 to Harvey Lee and Mae Bell Bishop in Grandfield, Oklahoma. Virgil was preceded in death by both parents, siblings, Marvin Bishop, James Bishop, Lee Faustner, Ann Ortiz and Sue Bristow.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 59 years, Frankie Omalee, siblings Caroline Stierlen, Glenn Wayne Bishop and Bobby Bishop, a beloved father to three children, Donna, Harvey and Michael and was also the proud grandpa to Michael, Brad, Eric, Audrey, Frankie and Huck. In addition he had numerous nieces and nephews who frequently referred to him as "Uncle Virg".
He proudly served his country for 20 years and was a veteran of the United States Army. Services will be held at the Craddock Memorial Chapel, Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Rev. David Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at McAlister Cemetery with full military honors. Come and go visitation will be from 8am-9 pm at the funeral home. Due to Covid, the family requests that masks to be worn at the service for protection for those with immune sensitivity. Pallbearers will be Harvey Bishop, Michael Bishop, Brad Bishop, Michael Lockhart, Mario Reyes and Kenny Faustner.
