Venda Darlene Ellis
Services for Venda Darlene Ellis, 78, will be Friday, April 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Maranatha Free Will Baptist Church with Reverends Leroy Holman and Dennis Heath will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery with the assistance of her grandsons.
A time of visitation and support for the family will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 till 7:00 p.m. at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Venda was born March 16, 1943 in Ada, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Edwin and Mayme Alice Cantrell Harber. She passed away on April 13, 2021 in a local hospital.
Raised in Sulphur, Oklahoma, she graduated from Sulphur High School class of 1961. She and Harold Dean Ellis were married September 15, 1962. He preceded her in death November 23, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her brother Eddie Wayne Harber and her sister Linda White.
Venda was a member of the Maranatha Free Will Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughters, Thelesa Taylor and husband Darric; Laquita Gaston and husband Kelly; and Deana Ellis; two sons, Tommy Ellis and wife Tonya; and Kevin Ellis and wife Bobbie; her brother Tommy Harber and wife Dorothy; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are entrusted to Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory where words of comfort and condolences may be left for the family at www.hdouglasfuneralhome.com.
