Lone Grove - Graveside rites for Cecil Max Johnson, 73, will be held Monday morning, April 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in the McAlister Cemetery at Overbrook with Reverend Roger Sims officiating.

Born on April 13, 1948 to Harvey and Naomi Johnson in Elk City, OK. He passed from this life April 21, 2021 at his home in Lone Grove surrounded by his family.

Cecil graduated from Plainview High School with the class of 1966. It was there he met the love of his life Nancy Lynn Grounds and they married in August of 1968 and of this union had two sons Gregory and Brandon. After graduation Cecil attended Southeastern University and served with the 1345th Army National guard as an E 7.

He worked over 50 years in the oilfield retiring with Samedan oil and continued with Mack energy. Cecil was a dedicated family man and his main priority was working to provide for his family and making sure everyone and everything was always taken care of. He had a passion for restoring antique tractors and was an avid OU Sooners fan. He was so proud of his sons and his grandkids and all of their hard work and accomplishments. He loved attending his grandkids sporting events.

Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife Nancy of the home, his sons Gregg Johnson and wife DeeDee of Lone Grove, OK , Brandon Johnson and wife Wendy of Lone Grove, OK, Grandchildren, Ashton, Austin, Mason, Teagan, Cooper, Heather and Ashley. Great grandchildren Halstin, Caiden, Maddie and Memphis . Brother Clarence Johnson and wife Carolyn of Gainesville TX, Sisters in law Pat Plank of Ardmore, OK, Brenda Epperson of Ardmore OK, Janet Cross and husband Bill of Lone Grove, OK, Rita Vaile and husband Jeff of Springer OK, Several nieces and nephews and a very special mother in law Faye Grounds of Lone Grove, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents and father in law Doug Grounds.

The family requests memorial donations to Cross Timber's Hospice.
