Benjamin Allen Carrington

Ardmore - Today we honor Benjamin Allen Carrington who passed away on May 10, 2021 following a long illness at 36 years of age. Benjamin was a special gift from God. One who blessed us with a gentle spirit, a loving soul and a humble heart. His journey through life was with calmness of a warm summer breeze. We felt this in his presence and instantly felt as ease. Although we grieve his loss, we know in time our pain will subside, his memory will thrive and a smile yet a tear to our eyes. So until we meet again, go rest high on that great mountain. Be at peace our Son, our Brother, our Nephew, our friend.

Ben was on born September 23, 1984 in Columbus, Ohio at the Ohio State University Hospital. Ben was a beloved, kind sole who loved everyone he met and left a lasting impression. Never a mean word and with deep conviction and empathy. A well renowned chef who work at many established restaurants from The Marriott Blue Moon in Panama City, Florida and most recently The Dancing Bear Lodge located in Townsend, Tennessee. Ben used his cooking skills while living in Ardmore for the Salvation Army. He was a published chef in many restaurant magazines. Ben was an avid golfer, Ohio State Buckeye fan, and Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. He loved cooking for his family. His favorite shows were Triple D Diners, Drive In's and Dives, Law and Order and Andy Griffith. Ben was funny and full of surprises and could tell wonderful and amusing stories about his family and each story had an amusing anecdote.

Ben loved his family and always wanted the best for them. He was a home body and when we would visit it was special. Everyone would do their best for him.

Ben loved classic music. I guess because it was the only station my truck radio could pick up when he was younger. Ben loved fireworks which started at a young age. Ben's Great Grandfather was a licensed fireworks expert. We would go back to Ohio for Fourth of July vacations with family and set off great firework displays. He continued setting fireworks with friends everywhere he lived.

Ben leaves behind his loving parents Gayle and Doreen Carrington in Ardmore, Oklahoma, brother Nicholas Carrington of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a sister Erin Parrish and brother in law Matt Parrish and niece Penelope Parrish of Denver, Colorado, aunts and uncles Dave and Sue Carrington of Panama City, Florida, Carl and Stacy Carrington from Mansfield, Ohio, Timothy Carrington from Lucas, Ohio, Dallas and Jean Shearer from Chippewa Lake, Ohio, Ron and Darlene Workman from Ashland, Ohio, Diana Shelton from Ocala, Florida and numerous cousins.
