James Leroy Burleson

Ardmore - Ardmore native, James Leroy Burleson, 60, passed from this life to life everlasting June 2, 2021 in an Oklahoma City hospital after fighting a valiant battle with cancer. James, the son of the late C. L. Burleson and Ethel (Miller) Burleson was born March 24, 1961 in Ardmore.

James grew up in Ardmore and graduated from Ardmore High School with the class of 1979. He later attended college for a time and was proud to have served his country in the U. S. Army. James had been employed at Love's Truck Stop for over twenty years.

Survivors who will forever cherish precious memories include: two brothers, Charles Burleson and wife, Elaine, and Willie Burleson; five sisters, Erma Britford, Caleen Lyons, Patricia Burleson, Julia Burleson, Kathleen Fields and her husband, Eric; also his significant other, Rhonda McGee; her daughter, Audria and wife, Charlotte; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. James was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Spencer.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2021, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Abraham Walton. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery with the assistance of Allen Cook, Gary Young, Larry Young, Wayne Fields, John Wells and Chester Roberts serving as pallbearers.
