Jon Grant

A memorial service for Jon Grant is scheduled for Wednesday at 3:00 in the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dru Finley officiating. Jon Grant was born October 6, 1946 in Paris, Tx. to Robert William and Cledith (Wright) Grant. He passed this life on June 2, 2021 in Houston, Tx. Jon graduated from Hugo High School and from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a degree in Bachelor of Science. He and Joyce Reed were married on June 11, 1971 in Ardmore. She preceded him in death on Sept. 3, 2018. Jon retired from Michelin North America after 47 years as Purchasing Manager. Jon was proud to have served his country during the Vietnam war from 1968-1969 in the United States Navy. Jon was always regularly active in our community. When his children were young, he coached Basketball, T-Ball and Flag Football at the YMCA. He also was the Public Address Announcer for the Plainview Football team for 24 years and was a Cub Scout Troop leader. He was also very civic minded, serving on the Board of Adjustments for the city of Ardmore, served as Chairman of the Carter County Excise Board, served on the advisory board for school of Business at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, President of the Ardmore Higher Education Center, Advisory board for the Salvation Army, member of the Community Choir and the Rotary Club. Professionally he also served as Vice President of the Oklahoma Minority Supplier Development Council. Jon is survived by Daughter, Mandy Grant Castleberry of Kingwood, Tx. and her husband Chance; Son, Cass Grant and his wife Connie of Ardmore; Brother Bob Grant; grandchildren, Carson Castleberry, Brynn Castleberry, Carter Grant and JJ Grant.
