Irene was born September 29, 1927 the third child of William Edward, Sr. "Tom" and Ruby Alma (Westbury) Strawn in Ringling, Oklahoma. She passed away on June 04, 2021 in Oklahoma City. Irene attended school through the fifth grade at Atlee, Oklahoma. In 1939 the Strawn family moved to Wilson. At 17 years old Irene was baptized and became a member of Rexroat Baptist Church. In 1946 Irene met Calvin Mauldin while roller skating in Healdton. In January 1947 the Strawn family moved to Duncan. However, Irene was not happy with Duncan High School. On her first day of class Irene told her sister, Alene, get your things we're not coming back. Irene finished her senior year at Rexroat High School graduating with the class of 1947. On November 26, 1947 Calvin and Irene were married in Healdton. The next year Calvin Jackson, Jr. arrived. Their son Bobby Eugene joined the family in 1950. On Calvin and Irene's 13th wedding anniversary Sandra Ilene was born completing the family. Tragically on September 25, 1963 Calvin was killed in a car accident south of Healdton.

The Mauldin family and Stewart family were united on February 12, 1966 with the marriage of Clarence Stewart and Irene Mauldin. Irene helped Clarence with cattle ranching and maintained the home northwest of Healdton. In 1968 they bought two lots at Lake Texoma, moved a trailer onto the property, and eventually moved in a house. Irene enjoyed fixing up the house, boating, and visiting her lake neighbors. In her later years, Irene enjoyed the white beaches of Cancun, Mexico, rode the elevators to the top of the World Trade Center in New York City, looked out over the Grand Canyon, experienced the attractions at Universal Studios in California and Florida, and rode the rides with her grandchildren and sister at Disney World.

Irene was a 54-year member of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and a descendant of two Texas rangers.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, older brothers, William Edward Strawn, Jr. and J.T. Strawn; her sister Alene Nelson, her brother-in-law, R.J. Nelson, a sister-in-law, Joan Strawn, and her son Jack Mauldin.

She is survived by her son Bobby Mauldin, Healdton, her daughter Sandra (Bill) Fink, Oklahoma City, her daughter-in-law Linda Mauldin, San Antonio, Texas, her younger brother, Bill Strawn, Duncan, sister-in-law, Florence Strawn, Duncan. Six grandchildren and two great granddaughters survive her with a great grandson expected to arrive in July.
